Balliceaux Villa
A 3,983 square foot, three-bedroom, three-and-a half-bath villa,

Villas
In
addition to the Golf Villas, there will also be a gated community
of Monte Carlo Villas surrounding the European-style Trump Club

the northeast side of the island; Marina Villas, which include

What's planned: 135 villas spread across 700
acres on a 1,200-acre estate that the project shares with Raffles
Resort. Although it will open officially later this month, 11
already have sold. Villas range from two-bedroom, two-and-a-half
bath duplexes, starting at $2 million, to three-bedroom, three-and-a-half
bath homes with private pools, starting at $3.75 million.
Design: Plantation-style, with hipped roofs,
arched windows and wooden shutters; walls with coral accents.
Amenities: Along with a casino, Mr. Trump has built a golf course,
designed by prominent golf-course architect Jim Fazio, with the
front nine holes in an old volcanic crater and the last nine on
the top of a mountain. Both the casino and the golf course bear
the Trump name. The nearby Raffles resort has three restaurants,
four bars, four tennis courts, a fitness center and a spa consisting
of 11 thatched-roof suites. At 12,900 square feet, the swimming
pool is the largest in the Caribbean, the developers say.
Big
event: The Trump International Golf Club's invitational
golf tournament launching in May, to be held annually, with a
million-dollar prize
Pros: Because local wages are low, construction costs are, too,
and homes can be built for as little as $100 a square foot. Property
taxes are also low compared to the U.S., and are calculated as
a percentage of the rental value of the property.
American Airlines
offers daily service to Canouan from San Juan. Several airlines
also offer flights from major North American
cities to Barbados -- including Air Canada, Air Jamaica, American,
BWIA, Continental, Delta and US Airways -- and Raffles arranges
air limousine
transfers from Barbados to Canouan. Raffles also offers its own
private executive jet with club seating for seven passengers to
transport clients from
any of the Caribbean islands.

prices start at $2.7
million.
